Arsonist who set fires in California an illegal alien who was deported five times… but California gave him “sanctuary”

As Democrats on the far Left freak out over the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to do something radical regarding immigration law — which is to say, enforce it — the top U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official, Director Tom Homan, has confirmed that the deadly, ruinous wildfires ravaging California were allegedly started by an illegal alien who had been deported at least twice before.

As reported by Breitbart News, the fires have devastated California’s vaunted and legendary wine country and have cost the state some $1 billion in damages. But all is good, you see, because California — the “sanctuary state” — would never think of disrespecting anyone who was in our country illegally.

Even if they kill a bunch of people after intentionally starting the state’s worst wildfire ever.

In talking with the media, Homan confirmed that ICE had arrested a man in connection with starting a fire in Sonoma County Wine Country who is an illegal alien from Mexico, his “home country.”

Homan also said his agency had issued detainer requests for the suspect, Jesus Fabian Gonzalez, five times just in the past year, including one issued on Oct. 16 after authorities suspected him of being involved in starting at least one fire. All of his previous arrests were made “by Sonoma County on various felony and misdemeanor charges,” Homan said.

Though Gov. Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown, a Democrat, recently signed legislation making the entire state a “sanctuary” for illegal aliens, Sonoma County in the past was always a ‘sanctuary’ jurisdiction, meaning police and authorities there did not cooperate fully with federal immigration officials — including honoring detainer requests from ICE.

The agency “was never notified of Mr. Gonzalez’s various releases,” Homan wrote in a statement. (See more related information regarding the nation’s illegal immigration problem at InvasionUSA.news.)

Several fires have burned through the region so it isn’t yet clear what role Gonzalez allegedly played as regards the entire disaster.

In his statement, Homan made sure he mentioned just how uncooperative Sonoma County authorities have been in the past regarding the honoring of federal detainer requests, and how that very likely led to the devastation the county has now experienced:

Once again, a non-cooperative jurisdiction has left their community vulnerable to dangerous individuals and preventable crimes. ICE lodged a detainer against Jesus Gonzalez with Sonoma County jail officials on October 16, following his arrest on felony charges for maliciously setting fire to a property. This is especially troubling in light of the massive wildfires already devastating the region. Over the past year, ICE has lodged detainers against Mr. Gonzalez after four separate arrests by Sonoma County on various felony and misdemeanor charges. ICE was never notified of Mr. Gonzalez’ various releases. Additionally, Mr. Gonzales has been returned to his home country of Mexico on two separate occasions. The residents of Sonoma County, and the state of California, deserve better than policies that expose them to avoidable dangers. Non-cooperation policies – now enshrined in California state law – ensure only one thing: criminals who would otherwise be deported will be released and left free to reoffend as they please.

The path forward for any Californian who has lost a loved one or property because of these fires seems clear: Brown and every lawmaker who voted in favor of the statewide sanctuary bill must be held legally liable for the damages. There is simply no other way around it.

They are accessories to the crimes and to the losses of life and property, and it should not matter that they are elected officials because federal law prevents them from doing exactly what they did — implement a non-cooperation policy with immigration enforcement agents.

If a Republican governor and legislature, or President Donald Trump, were responsible for implementing an illegal and irresponsible law that led to massive death and property destruction, Democrats would act like barbarians at the gate in order to bring “justice” to the situation.

The same thing needs to happen now: Americans concerned about institutionalized Democratic lawlessness must insist they be held responsible when they kill people and destroy property.
